Meet Your Facilitators

Pregnancy can often become a time of doing. Appointments, information, preparation, advice — sometimes more than we can fully take in.

And while so much of it is well-intentioned, it can leave very little room for something quieter, but just as important: Space.

The Mother Within retreat was created from a shared recognition of this — that what many women need isn’t more to do, but a place to simply be. A place to slow down, to reconnect and to feel supported rather than directed.

This retreat brings together two complementary ways of supporting women through pregnancy and birth.

One grounded in clinical experience and advocacy, the other in body-based practices, rest, and nervous system support.

Together, they create a space that honours both:

  • the importance of feeling informed and safe,

  • and the need to feel connected, resourced, and at home in your body.

We are not here to give you a list of things to get right.

Instead, this space is about:

  • gently building trust in your own body

  • creating capacity to meet what arises

  • and supporting you to move through pregnancy and birth in a way that feels truly your own

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer is a midwife, mother of four, and Clinical Midwife Manager with over a decade of experience supporting women from pregnancy through to the fourth trimester, bringing both clinical expertise and lived understanding.

She supports you to feel informed, heard, and confident in your choices as you move toward birth.

With experience across antenatal care, labour wards, and emergency assessment, Jennifer has supported women at every stage of pregnancy and early motherhood.

Her work is rooted in a deep belief in the innate wisdom of the body, and in every woman’s right to feel safe, supported, and actively involved in her care.

Meet Anna

Anna is a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Health Counsellor, and pregnancy & birth facilitator who supports women to slow down and reconnect with their bodies during this time.

She holds a space where you can slow down, tune into your body, and learn to trust what’s already within you.

Her work draws from yoga, Ayurveda, and nervous system-based practices, offering a steadier, more grounded approach to pregnancy and birth preparation.

Rather than adding more to do, she focuses on creating space — for rest, awareness, and a deeper connection to yourself.

What this space offers

This space offer something different. Not another list of things to get right but a space for you to feel supported. A chance for you to come back into your body and connect with your baby. And perhaps a little more space to breathe, reflect and learn to trust yourself.

Whether you’re feeling calm, overwhelmed, or somewhere in between - you are welcome here.

Just as you are.
