Meet Your Facilitators

A space to pause, to soften, and to return to yourself.

Pregnancy can often become a time of doing. Appointments, information, preparation, advice — sometimes more than we can fully take in.

And while so much of it is well-intentioned, it can leave very little room for something quieter, but just as important: Space.

The Mother Within retreat was created from a shared recognition of this — that what many women need isn’t more to do, but a place to simply be. A place to slow down, to reconnect and to feel supported rather than directed.

This retreat brings together two complementary ways of supporting women through pregnancy and birth.

One grounded in clinical experience and advocacy, the other in body-based practices, rest, and nervous system support.

Together, they create a space that honours both:

  • the importance of feeling informed and safe,

  • and the need to feel connected, resourced, and at home in your body.

We are not here to give you a list of things to get right.

Instead, this space is about:

  • gently building trust in your own body

  • creating capacity to meet what arises

  • and supporting you to move through pregnancy and birth in a way that feels truly your own

I’m honoured to hold this space with you — where you can lean into your intuition, breathe into your strength, and prepare for birth in a way that feels truly your own.

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer is a midwife, mother of four, and Clinical Midwife Manager with over a decade of experience supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period.

Her work is rooted in a deep belief in the innate wisdom of the birthing body, and a commitment to helping women feel informed, supported, and empowered in their choices.

Her Approach

Jennifer is a strong advocate for a woman’s voice in her own care. She believes that when a woman feels truly heard, supported, and safe, she can access a deep well of strength and intuition within herself.

Her approach is centred on creating space to slow down, to tune in, and to move through pregnancy and birth in a way that feels grounded, informed, and deeply personal.

Experience

With experience across antenatal care, labour wards, and emergency assessment, Jennifer has supported women at every stage from early pregnancy through to the fourth trimester.

Alongside her clinical work, her own experiences as a mother of four, including three home births supported by Self-Employed Community Midwives, deeply inform how she holds space for others.

She brings both clinical insight and lived understanding to her work, bridging the gap between medical care and a more intuitive, woman-centred experience of birth.

At The Mother Within retreat, Jennifer offers a steady, supportive presence — holding space for women to reconnect with their bodies, build confidence in their choices, and prepare for birth in a way that feels calm, informed, and their own.

I’m looking forward to welcoming you to a day where you can slow down, tune into your body, and learn to trust what’s already within you

Meet Anna

Anna is a senior yoga, somatics & meditation teacher, Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and a pregnancy & birth facilitator. Her work centres on supporting women to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and move through pregnancy with a deeper sense of trust, steadiness, and self-awareness.

Her Approach

Anna’s approach is rooted in the belief that pregnancy is not something to “get through,” but a time to come into deeper relationship with yourself.

In a world that often encourages doing more, fixing more, and preparing more, her work gently invites the opposite, creating space to pause, to listen, and to build the capacity to be with what is arising, both physically and emotionally.

Drawing from yoga, nervous system work, and Ayurveda, she supports women in developing a felt sense of safety in their bodies not as a concept, but as something lived and experienced.

Experience

Anna has worked with women across a range of settings, offering classes, workshops, and one-to-one support throughout pregnancy and beyond. Her teaching weaves together functional movement, rest practices, breathwork, and reflective space.

Her work is particularly influenced by an understanding of capacity; supporting women not to become more resilient in a forceful way, but to gently expand their ability to sit with sensation, uncertainty, and change.

Her own experiences, and 4 pregnancies, have shaped a deep respect for the complexity of this time and a recognition that no two journeys into motherhood are the same.

She is less interested in idealised versions of pregnancy and birth, and more in supporting what is real, present, and true for each woman.

At The Mother Within retreat, Anna holds a calm, steady space for women to rest, reflect, and reconnect. Offering practices that support both body and mind as they prepare for birth and the transition into motherhood.
